Horse Quality Hay

RHR manages 150 acres of hay fields, producing premium horse quality Coastal and Tifton 85 hay that is barn stored to help retain quality throughout the year. While most of our hay is used to feed our stock, it is available for purchase in round and square bales.

Tifton 85 makes excellent hay when properly managed and is comparable to alfalfa when cut on 3 1/2 week intervals. Digestibility runs over 65% and protein level can easily exceed 17%. Tifton 85 makes a lot of sense if you are looking for a high quality hay product based on its protein and digestibility profile.

Coastal Bermuda Grass is a less expensive alternative to Orchard or Timothy hay With less protein 8% to 10%, it is an good source of roughage for all livestock. Additionally, it is a good source of vitamin A & D without an overload in protein, Better balance between calcium and phosphorus nutrients.
